An Expert System for One Phase Induction Motor Diagnostics
Kebri Kein Moudy Pajung

Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia

Abstract

This research is to study the possibility of developing an expert system application program for system diagnostics. The case of one phase cage rotor induction motor is studied as an example. Various conditions of a one phase induction motor are measured using 5 (five) sensors including a tachometer for measuring the motor speed, a thermometer for measuring the stator temperature, a voltmeter for measuring the line voltage, an ampere-meter for measuring the line current and a microphone for measuring the sound level. The measurement of these five operating parameters will indicate the conditions of 3 (three) motor elements, i.e. the bearing, the main winding and the auxiliary winding. Each element has 3 (three) possible abnormal conditions, so the total diagnostics covers 512 possibilities. The measurement of each sensor is categorized into 5 (five) possible level, i.e. very low, low, medium, high and very high, using a fuzzy logic algorithm. Thus, there are 3125 possibilities of symptoms to make an expert system with 3125 inputs and 512 outputs. A new knowledge can be added to the database whenever a new symptom is produced by a laboratory experiment or a field experience.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the effects of different
forms of dietary flavonoid on the production performance and
intestinal morphology of broiler. A database was built from published
literatures regarding the different forms of dietary flavonoid. The
database contained a total of 103 data points from 39 studies that met the criteria. The different forms of dietary flavonoid were considered as fixed effects and different studies were treated as random effects, and p-values were used as the model statistics. Results revealed that both unextracted and crude extract of flavonoid increased (p<0.05) average daily gain and villus height of ileum, but did not give any significant effects on other parameters. Flavonoid can maintain the health of villus, so it gives the increment of absorption of feed and affects average daily gain. The conclusion of this paper is that the different forms of flavonoid have a positive impact on production performance and intestine histology of broiler

Abstract

Sugarcane bagasse surfactant possesses a great potential as local surfactant development material. However, the existing researches regarding sugarcane bagasse as surfactant are still limited on the process of creating surfactant from sulfonation of bagasse lignin, and still unable to cover the Sodium Lignosulfonate Surfactant’s utilization with various concentration and appropriate low salinity on a case of surfactant injection. One of which is by observing surfactant rheology through phase behavior test. The method utilized in this research is a laboratory study by creating a field / reservoir situational conditioning. Surfactant concentration tested in this research were 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%, 0.8%, 1%, 1,5 6000 ppm; 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%, 0.8%, 1%, 1.5% 7000 ppm; 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%, 0.8%, 1%, 1.5% 8000 ppm by conducting test results and emulsion stability observations and phase behavior. After the test is done, the next step of the test will be the IFT test. Success surfactant concentration was detected on sample E and the concentration of the surfactant are 0.2% and 1.5%

Thermal Stresses Analysis of Casing String used in the Geothermal Well Completion Design of the X Field, Indonesia

Petroleum Engineering Department, Trisakti University, Jakarta

Abstract

By any change in temperature to a material, a thermal stress is created. Temperatures rise in geothermal well bore not only causes the decrease of casing materials yield strength, but also leads to the change of casing materials elastic modulus and coefficient of thermal expansion. Casing materials modulus of elasticity decreases linearly with the rise of temperature, while its thermal expansion coefficient increases with the rise of temperature. So, in the casing strength design, it is necessary to consider the influence of temperature variation on the above parameters. This study explains the thermal stress that occurs in the casing material, involve high temperature of wellbore about 200-300 oC, heat transferred from rock formation. The temperature changes between rock formation or reservoir and casing, cause the casing to expand and shrink, and ultimately failure at a certain temperature conditions point. This failure will change the production casing in length, as well as the well integrity. So, the casing design in geothermal must consider high temperature first, because the thermal effect on the casing affect in strength and resistance and burst, that cause the maximum joint strength of the casing decreases, and leads to the collapse of the well. This study gives a benefit, i.e. recommendation of the casing design for the field, which has similar characteristics with the X Field – Indonesia. However, the knowledge of overburden and fracture pressure gradients, is a determinant of the depth of the casing shoe, must be a major concern. Reservoir geomechanics studies will provide more accurate information about overburden and fracture gradients.

Non-linear regression approach to ROP predicted in Geothermal well aerated-drilling at Field X, South Sumatera, Indonesia
Arjuna Sriwijaya, M. Taufiq Fathaddin, Pri Agung

Magister Petroleum Engineering Department, Universitas Trisakti, Jakarta, Indonesia

Abstract

Rate of Penetration (ROP) is an operation parameter in Geothermal wells drilling, Field X, Indonesia, for all eleven wells, which needs to predict, for drilling operations forecast plan. Many correlations have been invented to reveal correlations between Predicted ROP and actual ROP, with one approach is simulating ROP predicted versus Weight on Bits (WOB), Rotation per Minute (RPM) of drilling bit. One of the expected equations, have ROP predicted as functional equations ROP predicted = A x WOBB x RPMC . In addition, independent variables such as True Vertical Depth (TVD), Compressed air flowrate (CA), Cutting return removal flowrate at Total Loss Circulation (CRT), Hole Diameter (HD), Cutting return removal flowrate at Partial Loss Circulation (CRP), and Foam Flowrate (FM), are all expected for contributing to ROP predicted, besides WOB and RPM as mentioned.
To achieve the goal for getting equations correlating between ROP predicted versus the independent variables as mentioned, an attempt had been conducted to find the correlations, using non-linear regression, from SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions) Software. Based on the assumed correlation equation, it is found that ROP predicted = A x WOBB x RPMC, multiplied with additional factor for the right-hand side, consisting of two variables out of TVD, CA, CRT, HD, CRP, and FM, each two have exponent factors D and E, respectively.
From the output simulation program SPSS analysis non-linear regression, summary tabulation for deviation error ROP predicted vs ROP actual data is made, comparison is made between deviation error based on each running simulated equations applied to all eleven wells as mentioned, and with deviation error based on each of 11 wells simulated with each of 11 ROP predicted equations, beginning with ROP predicted = A x WOBB x RPMC
From the summary tabulation as mentioned, and taking the best average percentage deviation error from all the eleven wells and from the eleven ROP predicted equations, it is got the final equation,
ROP predicted = 9.546 x 10-8 x WOB0.694 x RPM0.341 x CRT3.003

Petroleum Engineering Depertment, Universitas Trisakti, Jakarta, Indonesia

Abstract

A pressure build up test was performed in a dry gas exploration well. According to geological data indicated that there are two intersecting faults near the well. The analysis result provided not only information of the reservoir characteristics such as average reservoir pressure, permeability, and formation damage, but also confirmation of the presence of those two intersecting faults. In this study, a reservoir simulator was used to model pressure build up test of a well located near two intersecting faults. The effect of several parameters namely the distance between well to the faults, flow rate, and reservoir pressure, on bottom hole pressure behaviour was observed. The simulation results showed that the effect of variation of the distance between well and faults as well as that of reservoir pressure on estimation of permeability and skin factor is not significant. While, the variation of flow rate may result in a significant deviation. If a constant flow rate cannot be maintained during flowing period of the pressure build up test.
