IMPACT OF IMPLEMENTING THE PERIODESATION MODEL OF UNDULATING TRAINING ON AEROBIC CAPACITY IMPROVEMENT Herman Subarjah, Iman Imanudin, Unun Umaran, Sumardiyanto, Syam Hardwis
UPI
Abstract
Currently, there is no research that says the difference in results regarding the best periodization model to increase the capacity of athletes, especially in terms of physical condition aspects. However, the recent undulating periodization of the Undulating Periodization is believed to be better than the Traditional Periodization model. Traditional Periodization puts forward the training process that targets one training target in one training stage, while Undulating Periodization in one training stage can change the training goal depending on the needs, even in a micro count it can change the training goal.
The aim of this research is to analyze whether Undulating Periodization is superior to Traditional Periodization to encourage the improvement of physical abilities, especially the physical conditions of aerobic endurance. This study wants to try to assess the Undulating Periodization of aerobic capacity during one exercise period. The research will be applied to badminton athletes, with meetings three times a week.
The research method used was experimental, the design used was one group pretest-posttest, and the sample was 14 people. The instrument used in this study was the bleep test.
The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in the aerobic capacity of badminton athletes at each stage of the training periodization after being given an exercise program with an undulating training model.
The conclusion is that the application of an exercise program with an undulating model has a significant impact on increasing aerobic capacity.

Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia
Abstract
Football is one of the most popular sports in the world. Achievements in the football championship achieved by a country become a pride and make the country better known by other countries in the world. Each country competes to conduct football coaching, one of which is to create a football training curriculum that can improve the achievements of football athletes. But of course in addition to the achievement of the development of life skills of athletes of football must also be considered, because in essence a football athlete is expected to have good football skills and be able to perform optimally, must also succeed in his daily life. This is in line with the paradigm that has developed in various countries, namely ^development through sport^. For that components of life skills must be integrated in the football training curriculum, especially young football training. Furthermore, football coaches must be able to implement the curriculum through a training model in which the components of life skills are integrated. In this article the author will discuss how to integrate life skills in young football training in Indonesia.

Davao del Sur State College
Abstract
The study endeavored to recognize the mediating effect of friendship quality between sports performance anxiety and sports confidence of varsity athletes in state colleges in Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental. A non-experimental quantitative research design was used, utilizing descriptive, correlational and causative designs and data were taken from N=119 college athletes who were asked to respond on questionnaires online. In the analysis of the data, weighted mean, Pearson r, medgraph via linear regression and Sobel^s z test analysis were used. Results revealed that sports performance anxiety has a significant relationship with sports confidence and friendship quality significantly related to sports confidence. However, sports performance anxiety does not significantly correlate with friendship quality. Linear regression analysis found out that while sports performance anxiety and friendship quality significantly influence sport confidence among athletes, sports performance anxiety does not significantly influence friendship quality among athletes. Finally, while no mediating effect was noted on friendship quality, regressing it in combination with sports performance anxiety posed significant influence on confidence of athletes.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to describe swinging limb joint co-ordination while executing the tennis forehand stroke and to establish the effects of a perturbation on joint co-ordination between players of different skill levels to determine if the intended perturbations are required during training. A total of 25 forehand stroke performed by 1 novice and 1 skilled tennis players respectively were captured using a 12-camera high-speed optical camera system at 250hz. Swingling limb joint co-ordination differs between players possible due to differences in swinging kinematics. When subjected to perturbations, it took a long time for the novice player to return to normal swinging patterns. Even with perturbations, the skilled player adapted their swinging limb co-ordination to ensure optimal performance outcomes. This strategy is key for coaching implications where including perturbations during training will provide players with the know-how to re-adjust their swinging patterns most quickly when performing the next forehand stroke.

The Indonesian Judo Sports Development System and the Role of Female Athletes in the SEA Games: A Historical Review from 1977-2017 Ira Purnamasari, Amung Ma^mun, Berliana, Mulyana
Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia
Abstract
JD. Schilder was the figure who first founded the Judo association in DKI Jakarta in 1949. Since then, the development of Judo in Indonesia began. However, the participation of Indonesian Judo athletes in the first international match was only at Ganefo I in 1963 which took place in Jakarta. The award obtained by Tonny Atmajaya as the 3rd champion (bronze medal) inspired the coaches of Judo to be more serious in disseminating Judo sports in all regions in Indonesia. Since Indonesia took part in the 1977 SEA Games event, where Judo succeeded in donating three gold medals, since then Judo in Indonesia has received more attention in the national sports coaching system. The acquisition of Indonesian achievements in the SEA Games event continues to be an indicator of the success of the Judo sports coaching system, culminating in 1981 with the overall winner of the SEA Games. However, in 2013 Indonesia did not win a gold medal at all. Supporting sources are explored in more depth through document review and semi-structured interviews since the 1977 SEA Games until 2017, including the fundamental factors related to the implementation of national Judo atlet training that Indonesia once had and which is now unsustainable. This is a big question mark and will be discussed more openly in this article because it is the fulcrum for revitalizing the Judo sports development system in Indonesia.

Using the qualitative and interpretive orientation research, the study employed a phenomenological approach with athletes and varsity ladies in the Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology. The researchers utilized a content validated and conducted interview guide schedule prior to obtain the investigated data from the informants through in-depth interviews and focus group discussion techniques. Thorough transcription, careful translation, and appropriate decoding of data were done before the generation of the interview results operating the NVivo 12 software. The findings of the study indicated that adaptability occurred when there was a need for change. Time-management, focus, conflicts among teammates and coaches, and physical qualities were recognized problems and challenges by the informants. Identified limitations brought negative interconnected effects from their academics, athletics, and social relationships in which athletes self-assess for obtaining poor performance. Focus and adjusting are a few of the essential elements as a resolve to overcome hurdles. Finally, adaptability varies depending on the perception and the range of the experience of the athletes. Conversely, few of the informants were not all successful in hurdling playing basketball. Moreover, the authors recommend their created RID Adaptation Framework as a guide for the athletes to play and future researchers for further investigation and improvement of this context.

Abstract
The dietary practice of not consuming meat and possibly other animal-derived foods and beverages is called vegetarianism. Although interest in plant-based diets among athletes is not new, their popularity seems to be increasing now. The study indicated that 8% of international elite athletes followed a vegetarian diet while 1% being vegan. The objective is to determine the effects of vegetarianism (vegan and semi-vegetarian) among athletes on their nutrient sufficiency and performance. This review is conducted based on articles listed in ResearchGate and PubMed with vegetarian athletes as subjects. The results show that athletes practicing a vegetarian diet may be at a greater risk of nutritional inadequacy especially proteins, essential fatty acids, iron, zinc, calcium, iodine, vitamin D, and vitamin B12. This literature review concluded that plant-based diets had no benefit or detriment to performance parameters in athletes compared with omnivorous mixed diets. This study suggests that vegetarian athletes should plan a well-planned diet, to meet the recommendations of macronutrients and micronutrients for training and recovery. Supplementations can be consumed if needed. Overall, it appears that vegetarianism in athletes had no effects on their performance and they can maintain nutritional adequacy by planning their dietary consumption and adding some supplementation to their diet if needed.

Abstract
Hydration status is very important to know because that can affect body balance, especially for athletes. Diseases caused by acute dehydration need to be minimized with the athlete^s hydration status. One of factor dehidration in athletes cause by fluid balance. Hydration status effected by sweat loss and fluid intake during performance. The aim of this study to review the most recent research on the factors that most influence hydration. This study review using the literarure research from google scholar, PubMed, and Elsevier with periode of the journal at least five years. Many athletes after training experience dehydration due to not consuming enough fluids and electrolytes before, during training and competition. To assess hydration status cannot be determined by just one factor. General recommendation of hydration status measure using accurate biomarkers to detect body water fluctuations of 3% of total body water (TBW), using dehydration index, body mass or color of urine. Therefore monitoring hydration status is very important to maintain athlete performance. Exercise increases hypohydration due to fluid losses so that should be given to fluid supplementation and intake from certain food for each athlete. The factor that most influences the athlete^s hydration is sweat loss and fluid intake.

Background: The incidence of obesity has been spreading throughout the world. Many of the complications caused by obesity such as inflammation and impaired liver function. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of resveratrol and chrysin supplementation on inflammation and liver function of high-fat-diet induced obese mice. Methods: The C57BL/6 mice were randomly assigned to four groups: normal diet control (NC- n=10), high fat diet control (HC- n=10), and high fat diet with chrysin supplementation (HCH- n=10) groups. Resveratrol 25 mg/kg body weight and chrysin 50mg/kg body dissolved in a 0.1ml solution of dimethyl sulfoxide was supplemented orally per mouse 4 times a week for 15 weeks. Results: The calorie intake of group supplemented by resveratrol and chrysin were significantly decrease. The body weight was significantly increased in high-fat diet group compared with that in normal diet group but not in resveratrol and chrysin group after 15 weeks. The liver weight was significantly decrease in resveratrol group but in chrysin group. TNFα not significantly decrease in resveratrol and chrysin group while IL1β significantly decrease. TLR 4 significantly decrease only in chrysin group while IL10 only increase in resveratrol group. The collagen significantly decreases with resveratrol supplementation while fibronectin was not affected by resveratrol nor chrysin. Conclusions: The inflammation process in liver of high fat diet induced obese mice can decrease by supplementation of resveratrol and chrysin. The liver function can change mostly by resveratrol supplementation.
