Abstract

The increasing use of the internet and social media in Indonesia has driven the importance of optimal utilization of digital marketing to enhance sales. Although micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have relatively small sizes, they play a crucial role in advancing Indonesia^s economy. Digital marketing through social media provides complex information in the form of analyzable metrics to improve marketing efforts. The primary objective of marketing is to increase the likelihood of people purchasing a product or recommending it to others. To achieve this goal, it is important to establish good relationships among the elements within the business ecosystem, including large companies, startups, MSMEs, suppliers, distributors, customers, and other stakeholders.
In order to create a healthy, cooperative, competitive, and mutually beneficial business ecosystem, the presence of a business incubator that provides resources, mentorship, training, networking, and a supportive environment is necessary. This research was conducted using a survey method with a sectional approach, involving a sample of 38 MSMEs in the city of Cirebon. Currently, word-of-mouth marketing strategies are no longer effective for MSMEs, thus requiring strategies to create a creative community. MSMEs have expressed their readiness to compete in the era of digital marketing.

Institut Bisnis dan Teknologi Pelita Indonesia, Universitas Andalas

Abstract

The development of SMEs has had a significant impact on economic policy in Indonesia, with SMEs in Riau Province being a job creation solution. However, some areas need improvement. First, SMEs in Riau Province face challenges in their performance, as evidenced by declining profitability and the need to maintain their business. Second, implementing digital finance among SMEs in this region faces obstacles because several companies are still in the early stages of utilizing computer and internet technology in their business processes. Third, financial literacy in Riau Province must be improved, especially regarding microfinance and FinTech institutions. Fourth, a lower level of adaptive resilience among SMEs hinders their ability to cope with external issues such as the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Lastly, the sustainable competitive advantage of SMEs in Riau Province requires improvement, as only a few companies are involved in the partnership strategy. In short, this new framework proposes integrating digital finance, increasing financial literacy, fostering adaptive resilience, and developing sustainable competitive advantage as key factors for improving the business performance of SMEs in Riau Province. The findings of this research are expected to provide valuable insights and guidance for stakeholders involved in supporting and encouraging the growth of SMEs in the regions.

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of inspiration and learning in entrepreneurial interest moderated by attitude variables. The Indonesian government has set a target for the number of national entrepreneurs, but it has not been achieved so far. This condition will be the same if there is no process of obtaining inspiration and learning through an entrepreneurial attitude.
Forming a positive entrepreneurial attitude can increase inspiration and
learning. To get data about entrepreneurial interest in Indonesia, researchers used a descriptive quantitative method on 60 respondents whom researchers met face-to-face and virtually. The data collection process used a cross-sectional survey approach. The data collected were analyzed using the path analysis method and SmartPLS software. Based on the results of the analysis, inspiration directly influences entrepreneurial attitudes. Besides that, there is a direct effect of learning on entrepreneurial attitudes. Furthermore, there is a direct influence on entrepreneurial interest. Then, there is an indirect influence of inspiration on entrepreneurial interest through entrepreneurial attitudes. Finally, there is an indirect effect of learning on entrepreneurial interest. After being analyzed, the direct impact of attitude on entrepreneurial interest is more significant than the indirect effect of learning on entrepreneurial interest. The weakness of this study is the limited sample, so future researchers should conduct research on a larger sample, particularly in various industrial sectors.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of self-efficacy in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education on the interest in social entrepreneurship. Indonesia occupies the highest position in the level of concern over the problem of social inequality, which most adults feel. This condition will continue to occur if people^s concerns about the issue of social disparities do not get efforts to change through efforts to improve entrepreneurship education and self-efficacy in entrepreneurship. Successful entrepreneurship education is marked by increasing the ability of community entrepreneurs so they can improve their standard of living through entrepreneurial activities. To obtain data about the interest in social entrepreneurship in Indonesia, researchers used a descriptive quantitative method on 50 respondents, who were met face-to-face and virtually. The data collection process for this study used a cross-sectional survey approach. The data collected were analyzed by multiple regression method using SPSS software. Based on the results of the data analysis, there is a partial effect of self-efficacy in entrepreneurship on the interest in social entrepreneurship. Furthermore, entrepreneurship education partially impacts the interest in social entrepreneurship. Finally, self-efficacy in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education have a simultaneous influence on social entrepreneurship interest. After the variables are compared, self-efficacy in entrepreneurship on interest in social entrepreneurship is smaller than the effect of entrepreneurship education. Therefore, the efforts to develop self-efficacy in entrepreneurship to improve the level of interest in social entrepreneurship are more vital. This research has a novelty in examining the simultaneous effect of self-efficacy in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education on interest in social entrepreneurship because previous researchers did not mention the magnitude of this influence. However, the limitation of this study is not examining the relationship between self-efficacy in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education. Therefore, further researchers should conduct a study that examines the relationship between self-efficacy in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of subjective well-being on self-employment moderated by personal functioning variables. The happiness index based on the level of education in groups of people without formal education is in the low category. This condition will not change if there is no improvement in self-employment and personal functioning in those groups. Excellent self-employment can be expressed by considering education a priority for every community with a positive impact. To obtain data on subjective well-being in Indonesia, researchers used a descriptive quantitative method on 30 respondents observed directly and virtually. The data collection process used a cross-sectional survey approach. The data collected were analyzed with multiple regression methods using SPSS software. Based on data analysis results, self-employment has partial influences on subjective well-being. Furthermore, personal functioning influences subjective well-being. Finally, this study found the simultaneous effect of self-employment and personal functioning on subjective well-being. The influence of self-employment on subjective well-being is smaller than that of personal functioning. Thus, efforts to develop personal functioning to improve subjective well-being are more vital. This research has a novelty in testing the simultaneous self-employment and personal functioning of subjective well-being because previous researchers did not mention the size of the influence. Abstract

This study investigates the effect of training programs on entrepreneurship development in startup businesses. According to National Entrepreneurship Index, Indonesia occupies the lowest position among other countries. This situation will always be the same if there are no developing training programs for startup business actors, such as a startup accelerator program in the form of business incubation for startup companies. Abstract

Regional economic development strategies can be carried out by developing regional superior (leading) sectors. This research resulted in a design for determining economic structure and growth patterns, then determining regional leading sectors in each district/city in West Java Province, Indonesia in facing global market competition. To answer research problems, several data analysis methods were used, namely: Klassen Typology Analysis, Location Quotient (LQ) Analysis, and Shift Share Analysis using data for each district/city in West Java Province for the 2020-2022 period.
The province of West Java, which consists of 18 regencies and 9 cities, has its own characteristics from each region. In general, in West Java Province, the leading sectors are wholesale and retail trade- processing industry and the agricultural, forestry, and fishery sectors. There has been a shift in the economic structure in the regencies in West Java, from agriculture to industry, although the agricultural sector still plays an important role and is the basis sector in the region, especially the regencies. Meanwhile, for more developed regencies and municipal areas, there has been a shift or improvement in the economic structure of industry as well as an increase in the trade and financial sectors. And specifically for the city of Bandung, which is also the capital of West Java Province, there has been an even higher shift, namely starting to become a service city.
